10 ways to survive winter in Germany
- Check the "Weather App" or weather forecast every morning but make sure you look at the one in your location in Germany and not the one in Alabama or Puerto Rico as I did. Also, I usually look at the wind speed and "feels like" temperature.
- Start the car at least 20 minutes before leaving your home so you don't freeze to death and the ice melts a little so you don't have to scrape the car too much.
- Put on more than one layer of clothing. Store scarves, gloves and hats in the car. (Better safe than sorry).
- However, if you are going out to dance, you shouldn't wear winter clothing because the clubs / bars do not have air conditioning and then you would have to activate the survival plan.
- Try to expose yourself to the sun as much as you can. The days are short and almost no sun rises. Therefore, it is important to look for ways to maintain the level of vitamin D in your body.
- Take out the ski, sled or snowboard. Take advantage of the season and do activities according to your environment. Maybe a mountain overlooking a castle or ice skating in the center of a Christmas market.
- Visit an indoor pool. If you are terrified of winter sports or a health condition limits you, you can visit a swimming pool with a beautiful view of the snow mountains.
- Be positive and enjoy the season. Dare to experience new things because you don't know if that opportunity will come back.
- Otherwise, stay at home for 5 months below 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius). Read, exercise, and do activities that make you feel fulfilled.
- On second thought, why not take a flight to a country with better weather? Well, you decide. The important thing is to see the positive side in each situation in which we find ourselves. If you prepare well, you will not suffer and you will have a better time than expected. A friend once told me: "there's not bad weather, just wrong clothing".
