LOS ANGELES Weekend Travel Guide

0

We made it to Hollywood, baby! Los Angeles, California is the most populated city of the state. It is the center of the country's movies and TV industry. As it is our first time in the city, we did the most touristy stuff. We rented a car through Turo app and stayed at Los Angeles Airport Marriot.

Day 1 - our flight to LAX landed at 7:30am

  • Breakfast at IHOP - We prefer local business but since it was Thanksgiving Day, most places were closed.  Any way, we were seated, served and out in less than an hour.
  • Hollywood sign - There are many spots to take a close look to the sign or to hike to it. We chose Lake Hollywood Park. It is street parking and there's always a lot of people but minimum walking is required.

  • Walk of Fame - We parked at SP+ Parking garage (6801 Hollywood Blvd). It is $3 for the first 2 hours. The stars are right outside the parking garage and just a 5 min walk to the next 2 attractions.

  • Museum of Illusion - 3D artwork to have fun and take pictures + a house full of super cool giant items! We bought the tickets online for a specific time but they let us in about 4 hours before our scheduled time.

  • Madame Tussauds - Wax museum, short 4D Marvel film and a fun interview with a plot twist! We bought the tickets on the spot because we didn't planned on going there.

  • Beverly Hills - Famous town for its celebrity residents and unique beautiful houses and shops. There's a Beverly Hills sign and pond to take pictures.

  • Santa Monica Pier - Perfect afternoon walk to have some snacks, enjoy the sound of the waves, and watch as the sun sets on the horizon. There is also a mini amusement park in there and souvenirs' stores. PS watch out for seagulls because they WILL take your food. Yes, they took my $11 hotdog from my hands. No more comments.

  • Dinner at Panama Joe's - Located in Long Beach. It was one of the very few places open on Thanksgiving Day and it was delicious! Burritos, tacos and drinks were all yummy!

Day 2

We bought the 1-Day Park Hopper with Genie Pass which lets you experience both parks the same day. The Genie Pass is basically a fast pass. Check out my Disneyland Blog for more details!
  • Disney California Adventure Park - We were there from 8am - 1:30pm. We had lunch before crossing the street to Disneyland.

  • Disneyland California - We were there until 10pm. We had dinner there.

Day 3
  • Warner Bros Studio - This tour was so worth it! We loved everything about it. It takes about 3 hours in total. It starts with a self-guided history gallery, then a brief clip, then a guided tour through the stage sets and backlots, then F.r.i.e.n.d.s. store, fountain and Central Perk Café, then an interactive soundstage, then DC and Harry Potter and finish off with an Oscars award in your hands.

  • Universal City Walk - A street full of shops, restaurants and fun next to the amusement park. Parking is $30.

    > Lunch at NBC Sports Grill & Brew -We had burgers and a beer flight while watching FIFA World Cup 2022.
  • Dinner at The Palm - L.A. Downtown - This was a last minute, not researched place we went to eat before the concert. The prices were outrageous and we didn't think the menu was worth the prices. It was our fault for not looking at the menu before hand. We shared a steak with mashed potatoes for $70. It happens.
  • Crypto.com Arena Wisin y Yandel concert - Very organized and attentive staff. A lot of food and drinks options in the arena. Concert started 1 hr after schedule and it was 1 hr and 45 mins long. WE HAD A BLAST!

Day 4
  • Chill at the hotel, explore the amenities and enjoy the food and view from the Marriot member's lounge.
