Things you should know before traveling to Vietnam:
- You need to apply for VISA before flying to Vietnam. I recommend doing so month prior to your trip.
- Verify with your phone provider about an international data plan.
- Make sure you have a traveler's medical insurance.
- Download useful apps: Wanderlog, Google Maps, Grab, and Google Translate.
- Learn about cultural practices to show respect; such as avoiding hugging, and kissing in public.
- Passport must have 6 months' validity remaining when you enter Vietnam; one page required for entry stamp.
- Check the temperatures for the dates you are planning to go to dress accordingly.
Day 1
Lodging - We stayed in Val Soleil Hotel in Da Nang. We booked it through Booking.com and messaged the manager for early check-in (11am) which was granted. We used Grab app for taxi rides.
1. Lunch - We had a delicious and cheapest lunch ever at An Thoi Restaurant. We loved everything! The total for meatball noodles, spring rolls, seafood fried rice, chicken noodle soup, mango smoothie, 2 bottles of water, and a beer was 487,000 VDN ($20 USD).
We took a taxi to Hoi An town which is approximately 45 mins away.
4. Hoi An night market - famous for the tailor shops, Thu Bon river activities, shopping souvenirs, and many food options. We had such a great time immersed in their culture. Please try a coconut coffee and thank me later!
5. Dinner - we had the Hoi An chicken rice which includes shredded chicken and herbs at Morning Glory Signature. The mojito was delicious too!
Took a taxi back to the hotel.
Day 2
1. Breakfast buffet was included in the hotel rate.3. Lunch - We had German and American food right under the food tent at the park.
5. Use the hotel amenities such as the pool bar and pool area. Enjoy the stunning view of the city and the Dragon Bridge.
